Power Control Centers – PCC
Power Control Centers (PCCs) are equipment that plays a crucial role in electrical distribution systems. They are secondary distribution and lighting panels used after MPCC panels in shopping malls, industrial facilities, smart buildings, and water treatment plants. They are used to optimally manage and control the system in all areas where power control is required. PCCs ensure the efficient and safe distribution of electrical energy and play a critical role in managing electrical loads.
PCC panels are designed for applications up to 4000A, taking into account the dynamic forces created by the on-off manoeuvres of high breaking capacity breakers.
PCCs perform a number of vital functions in electrical distribution systems:
- Power Distribution: PCCs ensure the safe distribution of electrical energy from the main source to the various subcircuits. This system ensures uninterrupted and stable power delivery.
- Protection and Safety: PCCs detect electrical faults (such as short circuits, overcurrents, and overvoltages) and intervene quickly to protect other equipment in the system. This prevents faults from spreading throughout the electrical system.
- Control and Monitoring: PCCs are designed to monitor and control electrical loads. Operators can monitor electrical flow and manually or automatically control loads as needed.
